10 Miles

Today, I ran on the treadmill due to the days getting shorter in daylight. I headed to St. Matthew's Baptist Community Center for one of the three treadmills only working in the entire gym. I was able to keep a decent pace at 8:34 for 10 miles. Maybe someone can let me know, but the pace on the treadmill seems much faster than on the road!

Most of what I've read says road is faster than the treadmill, but for me, I'm faster on the 'mill. Guess it's like the mpg's on a car: "your actual mileage may vary."

Welcome to blogging. I'm impressed that you can run 10 miles on a treadmill. I have managed 6 miles, once. Usually 4-4.5 is all I can take. Give me the great outdoors.

The treadmill seems faster to me, too, but I've decided that it's the unforgiving pace. When I run outside, I know that my pace constantly varies depending on terrain, wind, what I'm thinking about or singing to myself, how I feel, etc. But on the treadmill, I have to stick with a constant pace. Yes, I can speed up or slow down the machine, but outside it requires no thought or conscious effort.
